UIDAI has launched Aadhaar on Wheels mobile van in Hyderabad through which senior citizens can get Aadhaar Card at home. Aadhaar on wheels has been introduced to provide Aadhaar services to senior citizens having difficulty in visiting the enrollment centers due to medical conditions, for availing services for enrollment and updating. 

Aadhaar on Wheels will be operated by CSC e-Governance Services India Limited. Within the GHMC limits four vans will run to provide exclusive service to senior residents having difficulty in mobility due to health conditions. Good initiative from the Centre to reach out to senior citizens living in metro cities of Hyderabad in Telangana.

Senior citizens in Hyderabad, Telangana can avail Aadhaar on Wheels service for enrolment of Aadhaar at doorstep by sending email to roh.help@uidai.net.in or by dialing 040-23119266.  

The request will be maintained in database and covered in a phased manner, area wise and the dates.

The residents will be keep informed of when Aadhaar on Wheels will be coming to their location.

1) Open the EPFO official website - http://www.epfindia.com/site_en/

2) Click on e-Passbook, login using your UAN number and Password.

3) Once you login - Go top of the page - Manage tab. Select the KYC option under Manage tab dropdown menu.

4) You can see an online form with options to update Bank details, PAN details, Aadhaar, Passport, Driving License, Voter Id Card, Ration Card or NPR.

5) If you want to update Aadhaar number then select Aadhaar, enter the Aadhaar card number and name as it appears in Aadhaar Card. Click on Save. Your Aadhaar number is now linked with Universal Account Number UAN.

Sukanya Samriddhi Account is useful for saving money for future needs of the girl child and the account can be opened in the name of girl child only. This account can be opened upto the age of 10 years from date of birth of the girl. SSA is launched as part of "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" campaign, is a small deposit scheme for the girl child.

SSA - Sukanya Samriddhi Account can be opened by guardian in the name of girl child till she attains the age of (10) years. One account can be opened/ permissible per girl child. However, this account can be opened by parents only for two girl children.

In Sukanya Samriddhi Account every year a maximum of Rs. 1.5 lakh can be deposited in each and every account.

You may open Sukanya Samriddhi Account in Post Offices or Banks and the account can be opened with an initial amount of Rs. 1000/-.

Sukanya Samriddhi Account can be opened with a minimum of Rs. 1000/- should be deposited every year and the maximum of Rs. 1.5 lakh. However, no limit on no. of deposits made in month or financial year.

If the account holders completes 21 years of age Sukanya Samriddhi Account can be closed and if the account is not closed after the maturity, the balance will earn interest specified in the scheme from time to time.

Under Section 80C for taxation deduction upto Rs. 1.5 lakh is allowed and Sukanya Samriddhi Account qualify for tax free withdrawal and interest income.

Sukanya Samriddhi Account holder turns 18 years upto 50% of the accumulated amount can be withdrawn.

Full withdrawal can be made if the Sukanya Samriddhi Account holder turns 21 years of age.

In Sukanya Samriddhi Account interest rate may change and the Government may declare every year. For this year 2014 - 2015 interest rate of 9.1% to Sukanya Samriddhi Account holders.

Loan facility is not available for Sukanya Samriddhi Account holders.

Demand Side Efficient Lighting Programme (DELP Scheme)

DELP stands for Demand Side Efficient Lighting Programme. This project is implemented by the Energy Efficiency Service Limited (EESL) and funded by PFC, PGCIL, REC and NTPC.

Under this scheme every household will get two LED bulbs in exchange of incandescent bulbs.

The market cost of LED bulb is approximately Rs. 500/- but under this scheme you will get this in exchange of incandescent bulbs by paying Rs. 10/-.

Incandescent bulb of 60 watts will be replaced with a seven watts LED bulb which is brighter and will reduce power consumption by an estimated 85%.


LED bulbs under DELP scheme is already distributed in Guntur District in Andhra Pradesh State and will be distributed in pilot project in other district of the States and can be exchanged at electricity bill collection counters and offices, Mee-seva centres and mobile vehicles to spread awareness about the DELP scheme.

For distribution of LED bulbs under DELP scheme awareness camps will be held in several places to bring to the notice of the people the benefits of LED bulbs in saving electricity.

The place and date for distribution of LED bulbs under DELP scheme will be intimated to the public in advance soon.

To know the balance in your account you need not visit the EPF office just simply sitting at your home you can check the balance in your account online by visiting the below website and following the steps listed herein below.


To know the balance in your EPF Account upto the date, the accounts are updated, which also includes the latest approved transactions of settlement/advances/transfer-in/transfer-out,if any.

Select the EPFO office where your account is maintained. Example: If your EPF Account is with Andhra Pradesh you will select that followed by your EPF Office location.

Furnish your EPF Account number, name and your mobile number.

You can leave the extension field blank, in case your account does not have one.
