DELP stands for Demand Side Efficient Lighting Programme. This project is implemented by the Energy Efficiency Service Limited (EESL) and funded by PFC, PGCIL, REC and NTPC.
Under this scheme every household will get two LED bulbs in exchange of incandescent bulbs.
The market cost of LED bulb is approximately Rs. 500/- but under this scheme you will get this in exchange of incandescent bulbs by paying Rs. 10/-.
Incandescent bulb of 60 watts will be replaced with a seven watts LED bulb which is brighter and will reduce power consumption by an estimated 85%.
LED bulbs under DELP scheme is already distributed in Guntur District in Andhra Pradesh State and will be distributed in pilot project in other district of the States and can be exchanged at electricity bill collection counters and offices, Mee-seva centres and mobile vehicles to spread awareness about the DELP scheme.
For distribution of LED bulbs under DELP scheme awareness camps will be held in several places to bring to the notice of the people the benefits of LED bulbs in saving electricity.
The place and date for distribution of LED bulbs under DELP scheme will be intimated to the public in advance soon.
