Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Mobile Number Portability (TRAI MNP) - change telecom service provider without changing mobile number.

Eligibility:

Could change mobile service provider after 90 days from the date of activation of mobile connection or from the date of last porting of mobile number.

Presently you are allowed to change mobile service provider within same service area.

If postpaid subscriber ensure that all dues have been paid.

Procedure:

1 Approach new mobile service provider -
check eligibility for porting
Generate Unique Porting Code - send SMS 'Port (space) enter 10 digit mobile number to 1900
Fill porting form/ Customer Acquisition Form
Obtain new mobile SIM

2 Wait for SMS:
Porting process take 7 working days / 15 working days in  depend on location
Old SIM remains active during porting time

3 Activate new SIM
SMS received - remove old SIM and insert new SIM

Porting mobile number charges applicable.

Corporate owned mobile connections porting procedure

Request for porting mobile number should be accompanied by authorisation letter from authorized signatory of subscriber

May seek simultaneous porting up to fifty mobile numbers belong to existing service provider.
