Telangana State School Education Department imposed the mandatory Aadhaar rule, issued circular on 26 November asking SSC board not to accept registration of students for SSC exams unless schools submit Aadhaar details of all students from classes I to X.
Private school management's are strongly opposed to linking Aadhaar with SSC exams, creating fear among students who do not have Aadhaar card.
School Education Director G Kishan said Aadhaar card numbers collecting to link with students admission registration number for tracking of the child from class I to X and this is for effective implementation of Right to Education Act.
Linking Aadhaar card numbers with students database will help Government verify how many students are on rolls and how many are dropping out every year.
